1 | Objective | 1.1 | This procedure defines the fees for ANSI Pilot Accreditation Program for Environmental Labeling Certification Program and Type III Environmental Labels and Declarations. | 2 | Definitions | 2.1 | Certification Body | | Third-part conformity assessment body operating certification schemes. | | Note: A certification body can be non-governmental or governmental (with or without regulatory authority). | 2.2 | Program Operator | | Body or bodies that conduct a Type III environmental declaration program | 3 | Responsibilities | 3.1 | Changes to the fees associated with the Product Certification Accreditation Program are suggested by the Program’s management staff and must be approved by the ANSI Vice President, Accreditation Services.
| 4 | Eligibility Fee | 4.1 | Non-refundable eligibility fee is $5,000. This fee is payable by the applicant upon submitting the request to determine eligibility of the Environmental Labeling Certification Scheme Owners or Program Operators for Type III Environmental Labels and Declarations. | 5 | Assessment Fees | 5.1 | The assessment fees are $1,250 per day per assessor plus expenses. This rate is applied to the assessor day(s) necessary to complete the determination of eligibility, including the review of the initial submission and any additional materials as well as preparation of the eligibility report.
| 5.2 | Assessor and staff daily rates used in this document are based on 8 hour work day. | 6 | Fee for Renewal of Eligibility | 6.1 | The Renewal of Eligibility as defined in PRO-PR-165 shall commence every three years. Six months prior to the expiration of eligibility of the Environmental Labeling Certification Scheme Owners and Program Operators for Type III Environmental Labels and Declarations, ANSI shall charge a Fee for Renewal of Eligibility in the amount of $5,000. | 7 | Appeal Fee | 7.1 | The Appeal Fee is $1,000. Subsequent fees associated with staff attendance at the appeals hearings are charged at $1,250 per staff member per day plus direct expenses. If the ruling is in favor of the appellant, all appeals fees shall be refunded to the appellant.
