The objective of this notice is to establish a date for the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.

4.1
At its July 14, 2005 meeting, the ANSI Accreditation Committee passed a motion to approve the dates for the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories by June 1st, 2007. This standard replaces ISO/IEC 17025:1999.

Motion
4.2.1
ANSI will verify that ANSI-accredited certification programs can demonstrate that all laboratories with whom they subcontract shall demonstrate compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by June 1st, 2007, and shall report to ANSI at such time that their own internal laboratories are also in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
